Wim de Wagt is an art historian and writer of numerous books and articles on architecture, art and Jewish history. He is best known for his monographs about the Dutch innovative architect J.B. van Loghem (1881-1940), and the Jewish stockbroker and visionary thinker Barend Chapon (1884-1943). In 2008 he took a doctor's degree at Technichal University Eindhoven, faculty of Architecture, his subject being the life and work of the versatile architect Piet Elling (1897-1962), focussing on his remarkable position in Dutch modernist architecture. Besides, Wim de Wagt wote as a freelance art and architectural journalist for several newspapers, magazines and other periodicals.
